First of all shout out to my first trail meeting. Hey Art and Maggie! Met these two at lock 8 on the C&O Canal trail, chatted for a bit, took some pictures and got some encouragement. Thank you both for the chat!
Today was rough, but we pushed through. Twenty miles on my first day was probably poor planning. Tomorrow is only fourteen miles.
I set my camp up while watching the sun set over the Potomac. Built a little fire and had a good cry. The intensity of this journey is ridiculous. I'm in my tent now cuddling with Brownie, he is equally exhausted but we're keeping each other warm.
I look forward to tomorrow and the repetition that is one foot in front of the other. There were points when I sang to myself left foot, right foot.
